Oppo R3 announced as the world's thinnest LTE smartphone

Not long after unveiling the N1 mini and the R6007 (aka Find 7 mini), Oppo this week announced yet another new Android smartphone: the R3.

Measuring 142.3 x 70.4 x 6.3 mm, the R3 seem to be Oppo’s thinnest handset ever. In fact, Oppo is presenting it as the world’s thinnest LTE smartphone (though it appears to be supporting only China’s LTE frequencies).

The R3 isn’t a high-end device, but still manages to offer decent features: a 5-inch 720p IPS display, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, quad-core 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of expandable internal memory. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Oppo’s own ColorOS is on board. The new handset weighs 140 grams, and includes a 2,420 mAh battery.

Oppo will sell the R3 in China starting this week, for about $368 (2,290 CNY in local currency). The company didn’t say if it plans to release the smartphone (or variations of it) internationally. You can check out some live photos showing the R3 in the slideshow below:
